• Hi everyone,

      I am a Senior Environment Officer working at the Ministry of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Mauritius. Being currently posted at the Department of Climate Change, I am the desk officer for the National Adaptation Plan for Mauritius and also working closely with the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre to implement a Nature-based Solutions and Loss and Damage projects, to address climate impacts in urban areas. Having worked at the Department of Environment (15 years), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Centre (about 6 years), the Department of Climate Change (5 years) and the Land Drainage Authority, I possess experience in integrated coastal zone management, environmental management, disaster risk reduction and management, oil spill contingency planning and knowledge in Marine Spatial Planning. Holding a Degree in Agriculture and a Master in Geographical Information System (GIS), I worked as part-time lecturer teaching GIS at 2 universities in Mauritius. I am willing to share my experience with the community and to learn more on climate change adaptation and mitigation in other SIDS.
